Personalised Family Gift Ideas

Personalised Family Gift Ideas

Hello, I’m Kerri Awosile – an artist, writer, and designer. I’m very excited to be taking over the blog today for a little roundup of some personalised family gift ideas, all available on And so to Shop.

Sometimes you don’t want to give individual gifts to each member of a family. Instead you want to give something special, that they can all appreciate for years to come. Something with their personality in mind, and with a bit more thought than a box of chocolates. Though, I don’t know anyone who would be ungrateful receiving edible treats!

These personalised family gift ideas are a great way to spread some Christmas joy. From fun gifts to more thoughtful items, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Personalised Socks Family Watercolour Art Print

Socks Family

Speaking of prints, I couldn’t not include my own ‘Socks Family Watercolour Art Print’ in a list of personalised family gift ideas. You can choose from over thirty pairs of socks, and your own text, to design a print completely unique to the family. It’s a fun, slightly quirky, yet stylish print, and a great way to celebrate the family’s character and personality.

Movie Night - Engraved Enamel Snack Bowl

Movie Night

Hands up, who loves a good movie night? I know I do, and I can think of many families who cherish their time snuggled up together on the sofa (or as far away from each other as possible, whilst still able to see the screen, where teenagers are involved).

This personalised ‘Movie Night – Engraved Enamel Snack Bowl’, by One Mama One Shed, is a fun but practical way to serve up movie night treats. Personalised with the family’s name, it’s a great gift to help treasure those evenings together.

Family Tree

This ‘Personalised Family Tree Framed Papercut’, by SBpapercuts, features three generations in one piece. It's a special gift for a family close to your heart or even grandparents.

Whereas many cut paper designs use a laser printer, this piece is cut by hand and created with amazing precision. I think it’s a gift that would be really cherished for years to come, don’t you?

 Personalised Family keepsake

Family Keepsake

If you like the idea of giving a family tree but want something a bit alternative in design, then look no further. This ‘Personalised Family Keepsake’, by Kirsty’s Handmade Keepsakes, could be just what you’ve been searching for.

Handmade from polymer clay and joined by twine, your chosen names are stamped on gorgeous grey and white hearts. You can even add a child’s date of birth under their name, and their birth weight and time on a little star. How sweet is that?

I hope you’ve enjoyed my little takeover and feel inspired by my small selection of personalised family gift ideas. All of these items are available on And so to Shop, as well as a host of other wonderful gifts. Plus, just remember – when you shop small, you’re not only buying a meaningful gift for someone else, you’re also making a meaningful purchase that makes an independent creative (like me) very happy indeed…so, thank you!

12 Ways To Go Green

12 Ways To Go Green

Zero waste: this term is on everyone’s lips at the moment and rightly so. Whilst we all know that we should be doing all that we can to live in a more environmentally friendly way, it can be difficult to know exactly what practical steps we can take. However, it doesn’t need to be an uphill struggle. The fabulous gals over at BIDBI (Bag It Don't Bin It) have 12 simple ways in which we can reduce the amount of waste we produce, having a positive effect on the planet (and in a lot of these cases on your bank account too). Winner winner!

My Favourite Old Garment

I knew I was going to lose the argument because I got Bethan’d: “Bethan, this is the East Yorkshire coast and it is December, you cannot spend an evening outside in just that dress.” 29 December 1999, I was 15...

Etik Paris

Etik Paris

You may remember my article about knitwear. About the joys I got from the soft Alpaca Wool found near the Equator, and, simultaneously the style I admired from afar as Etik, Paris showcased piece after beautiful piece on their Instagram

I had the good fortune to speak to Etik, and learned that it was indeed South America, and the soft, fine wool you find there, which formed a catalyst for their story.

Make Something Plain Less Ordinary

Make Something Plain Less Ordinary

Today I popped in to REW, to see an old friend and fellow small business owner. If you don’t know about her then you really should.

Rachel Emma Wright launched her business back in June 2011 but has been serving the fashion forward crowd for many years. I knew her as the really trendy girl that wore something new and funky every Friday night. Rachel started creating clothing in her spare bedroom after studying milinary at the Epsom School of Art. She later moved her business into a shed at the bottom of the garden and now owns a gorgeous studio in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Here, new designs are born, created and luckily for us we can pop in any time and pick up a unique piece.
