The Flower Crown: A Happily Ever After Shoot

Goodbye hump days and hello Wedding Wednesday's instead. Let's keep the trickiest day of the week a positive one with a mid-week yey and focus on all those little details which can make your wedding day that little bit more individual and bespoke to you.

It's snowing (very lightly) as I'm putting this post together, very fitting given the snow princess inspiration behind this floral crown from Gilly Page. There’s so much pretty right here in this winter inspired shoot beautifully captured by Amy Breeze. The intricate detail in the bridal crown is so delicately put together too. Combined with a personalised charm and striking florals by Fairleys Bespoke Floristry, this style is perfect for the Indie Bride looking for so much more than just a flower crown.  Read on to find out more about Gilly's artisan creation, with thought, love and passion showing through in this styled shoot.

Words by Gilly Page:

I am a romantic soul and love the idea of my bespoke silver pieces being so much more than a piece of jewellery but instead a keepsake that through the personalised silver charms tells a story. All of my pieces have a bohemian rustic feel and for this shoot, I wanted to tell a story of an ethereal snow princess on the way to marry her prince! My bridal crowns of delicately twisted silver wire, vintage pearl and crystal beads echo the sparkle of a frosty morning with droplets of ice twinkling and dancing in the light and the silver charms tell the story of the bride and groom engraved with initials, date and personal message. I wanted to continue the bohemian feel in the flowers I used in my crowns and accompanying bouquet, I have worked with Amy from Fairleys Bespoke Floristry before and she knew instinctively exactly the story I wanted to tell and we worked together creating the celebration of rich winter colour, texture and loveliness to both contrast and compliment the pale ethereal beauty of our model Tor. After seeing photographs by Amy Breeze I knew that she was who I wanted to work with to capture the story of the shoot.

I'm a firm believer that the flower crown is a wedding trend here to stay and budging in the lsighest. It's been adapted and evolved into a true statement piece that can be unique to every bride. Gilly's work truly reflects this.
