PoppyFetch

Poppy Fetch was created out of a love of being able to bring a smile to people’s faces with my light-hearted, cheerful and endearing characters. Having always had an interest in animation and sketching cartoons, it became evident that illustrating greetings cards would be a logical next step: what better way to brighten someone’s day than with a cheery critter to wish them well?

I am based in South Gloucestershire and whilst working I like to listen to calming piano music. I regularly work with my eldest daughter who is the creator of Lottie Suki; even though we have very different styles, we bounce off of one another and offer essential support, encouragement and guidance to each other. We both enjoy experimenting with mixed media and investigating different creative methods. Often, new ideas are borne of this experimentation. One of my main inspirations is my pets - they are full of character and I try to replicate their cuteness in my drawings and paintings.

Most of my designs are either hand painted in watercolour or digital designs. The cat drawings are taken from sketches of mine from many years ago. Additionally, one image is taken from an an original screen print from the archives of my work.
