KimonoSpirit upcycles Japanese vintage silk kimonos into decorative homeware
KimonoSpirit was born from my passion for kimonos. I've been collecting them for years, wearing them as dressing gowns.
The kimonos I don't wear, I upcycle into unusual, unique, beautiful items for the home.
I love the simplicity, patterns and colours of kimono designs - the silk fabric is transformed into stunning lampshades, table lamps and cushions by me at home in my workshop in rural Oxfordshire.
A kimono or haori jacket only contains so much material (6 sections) - once a piece has been used to make a lampshade or cushion, it has gone forever. I can guarantee you will never find another one like it (unless made by me!)
