Nolite Te Bastardes Carborundorum - Pin Badge - Handmade - Handmaid's Tale inspired

"Nolite te bastardes carborundorum" Pin Badge

This is my take on the main character OfFred (now OfJoseph) and phrase from Margaret Atwood's Novel "The Handmaid's Tale".

Margaret Atwood's 1985 Novel "The Handmaid's Tale" is as popular today as it was when it was first published.  Now a major award winning TV Series produced by HULU.

Margaret Atwood wrote the phrase "Nolite te bastardes carborundorum" as it was something that she and her school colleagues made up in their Latin class at school.  It is of course a made up latin phrase which kind of means "Don't let the bastards grind you down" and has become a mantra for OfFred (now OfJoseph) the main character in The Handmaid's Tale.

This pin is hand made from a non-toxic plastic and coated in a clear resin and mounted onto a silver coloured brass butterfly clutch tie tack pin back.

The measurements are as follows;

47mm x 39mm or 1.85 inches x  1.53 inches approximately.  Because this is a handmade item, the sizes of each pin can vary slightly and the measurements are meant as a rough guide only.

Perfect gift for mothers day, Christmas Day, birthday or even as a gift for yourself.

Small bubbles may occur during the curing process and this is part of the hand made process and is not a fault.

Not suitable for children under 3 years old due to sharp and small pieces.

We do not recommend leaving this product exposed to sunlight when not using as colour may be affected.
